Educational Background and Awards: *B.S. in Chemistry (June 1997) obtained at the University of La Laguna with an average grade of 3.1 and Extraordinary Award. *Fellowship for research collaboration during my last undergraduate course granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. *“FPU” Fellowship for my PhD period (1998-2001) granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. *Ph.D. in Chemistry (April 2002) obtained at the University of La Laguna with the maximum grade (“sobresaliente” cum laude) and Doctorate Extraordinary Award. *Special Mention in 2003 for Young Researchers awarded by the Canary Government.
Research Trajectory: *Highlights: 5 book chapters, and 45 publications included in the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR) . Among them, it can be cited: 3 articles in Analytical Chemistry, 1 article in Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 2 articles in Chemical Communications and, 13 articles in Journal of Chromatography A, being the corresponding author in 15 of the most recent publications. *The whole number of citations is 784 with a h-index of 16 (on December 2011). *More than 40 communications in International Conferences, with 12 oral communications, being 2 of them by invitation. *Current reviewer of 24 journals included in the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR): Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Chromatography A, Talanta, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, Analyst, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Colloids and Surfaces A, Analytical Methods, Chemical Communications, and Chemosphere, among others. *Editorial Board Member of “Journal of Analytical Methods in Chemistry” (ISSN: 1463-9246 , included in JCR, with an impact factor-2010: 0.348) *I have conducted several stays at prestigious research centers: * Wake-Forest University (3 months) under the direction of professor Dr. Willie L. Hinze during my PhD period. As a postdoc: *Canary Institute of Agrarian Research (7 months) under the direction of Dra. María Fresno *Iowa-State University (12 months) under the direction of professor Dr. Daniel W. Armstrong; *Université Claude-Bernard de Lyon (2 months) under the direction of professor Dr. Alain Berthod *The University of Toledo, Ohio (5 months) in collaboration with professor Dr. Jared L. Anderson. I am included as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Toledo since 2008. *Juan de la Cierva Program of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science in the period 2005-2008. *Ramón y Cajal Program of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation Since January 2010 at the University of La Laguna.
Teaching Trajectory: *I have overall taught 40 credits at the University of La Laguna. *I have received more than 650 hours in pedagogic courses for University Professors. *9 educational innovation projects as a researcher, and I have given a Course related with novel students response systems for University Professors. *Accreditations to Titular Professor (2010), Contractual Doctor Professor (2006) and Assistant Doctor Professor (2005) by the National Accreditation Agency (ANECA). |
