Culturas y literaturas en lengua inglesa

This course aims to introduce the student into cultural,
literary, and historical landmarks of the English-speaking
countries, except the British Isles and the United States. A
first contact with these societies will enable the student to
understand their literary achievements -which are greatly
contributing to the corpus of current English Literature.

Assessment
- Active involvement in practical sessions (25 %):
discussions will be based on readings previously assigned in
class. Many may be accessed to from the outline of each
block.
- Discussion in tutorials (25 %): Students will choose a
film and a time segment from a list that will be previously
placed at the door of office B1-26. Each 15 days approx. the
groups will meet with the teacher in a tutorial class and discuss
the film in relation to the topic introduced in the lecture
sessions. Students are expected to illustrate their command of
the subjects introduced in class, and to that respect they are
advised to do research on their own. Click here to learn

- Final Exam (50 %): A final exam will be assigned at
the end of the course. It will consist of an objective part (the
student will prove its competence by identifying specific facts
in short answers) and a written essay.
