Computer resources Computer services are provided by the ULL to support teaching and research. Students may have access to electronic mail and other on-line network facilities. Computing resources include PCs, Apple Macs and printers.
Dining services There are cafeterias serving meals and light snacks in the Guajara Campus Classroom Building, the Law School Building, the Business Studies and Economics Building, and the Journalism Building. In addition, there are a number of privately owned bars and restaurants around the Guajara Campus.
Exchange programs Educational opportunities for studying abroad are available to ULL students. SOCRATES and INTERCAMPUS programs are currently offered in conjunction with other European and Latin-American universities. Housing The ULL Halls of Residence provide comfortable rooms, many of which have en-suite facilities. Several are fully catered. They are located in and around La Laguna. Laboratory facilities A Phonetics laboratory is available for research and teaching purposes. Priority is given to research. This laboratory is located in the Philology Building. Language services Language Services run courses for those members of the university community interested in learning Spanish as a foreign language, Arabic, English, French, German and Swedish. Office hours All teachers who are not on leave set aside 6 hours a week during which they are available in their offices to see students about academic matters.
Publications
The Departamento de Filología Inglesa y Alemana publishes the
academic journal, Revista Canaria de
Estudios Ingleses. Our journal welcomes research articles
from scholars working on English studies in the following fields:
linguistics, literature, critical theory, and history. This
journal is indexed or abstracted by the main international annual
bibliographies. In addition, RCEI Ediciones has
published books focusing on the relations between culture and

Sports
facilities and activities Indoor and outdoor
facilities, mainly located at the Central Campus, are available
for ULL students. Sports offered include soccer, tennis,
basketball, volleyball, rugby, martial arts, athletics,
gymnastics, bodybuilding, and "lucha canaria," a local kind of
wrestling. An aquatic center located on the Nautical and Marine
Studies Center in Santa Cruz de Tenerife provides a unique
opportunity to participate in sailing activities. For more

assistance to ULL students. It serves many needs outside the
classroom, such as student travel grants, counseling, information
on financial assistance, economic support for childcare, etc.

Student Health Service Primary health care is offered to all students registered at the ULL. Foreign students should provide proper accreditation. In addition, a 24-hour emergency line, 112, is available. Please, see the Guide for International Students for more detailed information.

The University
Central Library The ULL Central Library is located
on the Guajara Campus. It contains a wide variety of books,
journals and other materials for undergraduate and graduate
study. The library has open stacks and a computerized catalogue
that can be searched on line. Interlibrary loan provides ULL
faculty, staff, and students materials not owned by the ULL
libraries. Listening, microfilm, and digital facilities are also
available. Library hours of service are usually from 8
a.m. to 9 p.m. (Mondays through Fridays), and from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. on Saturdays. The Central Library extends its hours
during examination periods. The ULL Central Library houses the
